How Can We Help?

Explaining Your Requests

The key to faster turnaround times & better outcomes

When it comes to submitting requests to the Flowjot team, clarity is king.

The more detailed and precise you are in your request submissions, the faster and more efficiently we can turn your vision into reality.

This article delves into the how and why of providing detailed explanations in your request submissions, following the framework of the "4-Part Perfect Request" introduced during your onboarding.

More Detail Is ALWAYS Better

Imagine trying to complete a puzzle without seeing the picture on the box; that's what it's like trying to fulfill a request without a detailed explanation.

The "4-Part Perfect Request" framework is designed to give us a complete picture, ensuring we understand not just what you need but also why you need it, how it should be done, and when you need it by.

  1. Task Description
  1. Target Outcome
  1. Tools Required
  1. Timeline

1. Describe The TASK

What do you want us to do? A detailed task description eliminates guesswork, allowing us to get it right the first time.

❌ Poor Explanation: "I need a landing page."

✅ Great Explanation:

"Create a webinar funnel that includes 3 different pages: a Landing Page, a VIP Upsell Page, and a Confirmation Page.

Here are the links for the pages I’d like to model:

For the opt-in page, we’ll need a form that collects First Name, Last Name, and Email.

Videos for all three pages are attached.

Copy for the pages can be found on this Google Doc: googledoclink.com."

This level of detail not only guides our understanding of the task but also significantly reduces the back-and-forth communication, speeding up the entire process.

💡
Pro Tip: Include An Overview Video. Use a screen recording tool like Loom to walk through details of the projects & the tools required for completion. This significantly increases the clarity of your request and can lead to a 60% faster completion time.

2. Define The TARGET

Why is it important? Understanding the purpose behind your request helps us tailor our approach to getting a job done.

Think of it like this: We all know that there are multiple ways to solve problems, but the path you pick is often limited by your own experience, experience, or resources.

Our job is to help you get from A to B in the simplest, more dependable way. When you tell us what want to accomplish, we have all the information to do that effectively.

3. Share The TOOLS

Where and how is the request being completed? Access to the necessary tools, resources, and assets is crucial before we begin work on a request. This ensures that we have everything we need to start immediately, without unnecessary delays.

🚨
We will NOT begin work on requests until ALL assets & accesses have been received.

4. Set The TIMELINE

When should it be completed? Clearly defined timelines help us manage our workload and prioritize tasks to meet your deadlines.

Whether it's a high-priority, urgent task or a lower-priority project that can wait, your timeline expectations guide our scheduling.

Priority Level
Translation
Low
"Take your time; this task can wait if more pressing matters arise.”
Normal
"Proceed with this task in the sequence it was received, following standard workflow.”
High
"Prioritize this task at the top of your list for prompt attention.”
Urgent
"This task requires immediate action and completion as quickly as possible."

⚠️
Reserve the “Urgent” tag for those real superhero moments — when time is of the essence and only lightning speed will do! Remember the quote, “If everything is important, then nothing is”? Use this status wisely so we’ll know when it’s really something that needs immediate attention.

Why Every Detail Matters

Providing as much detail as possible in your request submissions does more than just clarify the task at hand; it gives our team everything required to work efficiently and effectively so the final product meets or exceeds your expectations.

Detailed requests help us:

  • Understand your vision: The more we know about what you're envisioning, the better we can bring that vision to life.
  • Reduce turnaround time: Detailed explanations decrease the need for clarification and revisions, allowing us to complete your projects faster.
  • Improve accuracy: The likelihood of misunderstandings decreases significantly with detailed requests, increasing the accuracy of the delivered work.

In short, the time you invest in detailing your request saves time in the long run, facilitating a smoother, faster, and more effective workflow.

So, as you prepare your next request for the Flowjot team, remember: the more details, the better.
